About Girlfriends Gospel

Girlfriends Gospel was born out of a need for a safe space for sisters to come and share their experiences, their hopes, and their prayers.

We, Girlfriends Gospel, are non-denominationally bound to Christ. However, you do not have to be a believer to come and engage with us. Instead, we invite all women to participate. Why? Because my own very personal conviction is this: Christ said we should create safe spaces, so we created a safe space. I am very confident in His love for you that He can do the rest.

Girlfriends Gospel is meant to reflect the very low key and sisterly relationship that women have with one another. Our goal is that we would learn God’s intentions for our lives through understanding His word, and His love through very mutual understanding of ourselves and each other. This is not a space that is run by theologians, pastors, or teachers. We are just girlfriends, next door neighbors, seeking a good laugh and a good word.

As such, discourse here is open. The only rule is every exchange must be done in love. This is an area where we can drop our prejudices, our fixations, and our “running behind the jones.” Here, we are just–us. Authentically and beautifully us.

We get together eachTuesday night on a Talkshoe Talkcast. Why 10pm? Because I realized as a mother that the early evening slot did not work…to much going on between dinner, activities, etc. By 10pm most of us are sleepy and drained–but we are open and calm. By then, laugher is easy, and our minds are slower. So, it lends to a more casual environment…did you know that if you want to learn something new, the minutes just before sleep are when your brainwaves are most receptive. So this is my attempt at brainwashing! *laugh Just jokes…really it just seemed that this was when more women were winding down for the day. If 10pm is too late…we are downloadable through Talkshoe and iTunes! Listen to us chat while you run errands, work, work out, then engage through email, yahoo groups, or blog messages.

Ladies, this is just about us. Nothing more fancy than that.

  1. stumbled across this website… interesting… but it’s 11:32pm on Wednesday night… stumbled across it too late…

Was at a church sponsored Marriage Class where I told the teacher he is to publish the absolutely beautifully written study he did for the men in their roles as husbands.

  2. Pam…
Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate it.
You know, I think you should really encourage your husband to at least post such a study. I think so often we assume that our husbands know how to be good husbands. I often allude to the old adage about parenting, with the first one you are just learning by the last one you hardly notice your parenting anymore.
Well, quite frankly, I dont want MY husband to get to his third wife before he figures out how to be a good husband.*laugh, I want him to be a good one with me—his first wife. So, just like we minister to each other as women—men also need to minister to one another.
I think it is great that your husband is doing so….

  3. Hi!

I came upon your site while searching for scripture about “Making God Our Husband”. This site is interesting to me and I will be back to check it out more! Is there a sign-up or anything I need to do to be involved? God bless you, sisters!

    Susan
